A 7.5 metre between centres model of the FTM 1000 modern slant-bed lathe has been designed and manufactured for an Australian customer, the machine being equipped with a high power milling head, an integrated tool magazine with auto tool changer, a large spindle bore of Ø360mm, a sub-spindle and many other features for high efficiency and productivity. Designed for a specific application, the lathe has the capacity to machine complex components up to 7500mm in length and up to Ø1000mm in diameter.
The FTM 1000 is one of the most technically advanced machines that has been manufactured by the Polish company. The shipment of such a large machine is critical and required detailed planning, especially with the machine being transported in one piece. The move went according to plan and the meticulous project management ensured that all went well with the machine successfully ending up at the customers site on time.
