This machine tool has been developed to provide large scale manufacturers with exceptional horizontal boring operation ability coupled with the productivity usually associated with a high quality machining centre.
The Toshiba BTH-130.R24 provides a working envelope of 3 by 2.3 by 1.5M in the X, Y and Z-axes with a W-axis quill extension of 700mm. This spacious work area rests upon one of the most robust and rigid machining platforms available, something that will deliver incomparable machining performance for manufacturers in the aerospace, oil & gas, power generation and offshore industry sectors. This machine has step-type column guide-ways that withstand the cutting forces to assure optimum machining performance with virtually no thermal displacement.
Whilst the rigidity and robustness of the 45,000kg machine is the envy of the industry, the spindle demonstrates equally impressive performance characteristics. The BTH-130.R24 has oversized spindle bearings, hardened and precision ground to ensure precision over the long life of the machine. The spindle is contained within an oil jacket that provides constant oil-mist to minimise thermal displacement and Toshiba have used extremely rigid long span bearings and an automatic end clamp to support deep-hole boring operations.
Toshiba’s own well proven TOSNUC999 CNC control gives the end user the option of switching from manual, MDI and fully automatic machining modes. The user friendly operator panel includes short-cut keys for quicker and easier operation.
