A 7.5 metre between centres model of the FTM 1000 modern slant-bed lathe has been designed and manufactured for an Australian customer, the machine being equipped with a high power milling head, an integrated tool magazine with auto tool changer, a large spindle bore of Ø360mm, a sub-spindle and many other features for high efficiency and productivity. Designed for a specific application, the lathe has the capacity to machine complex components up to 7500mm in length and up to Ø1000mm in diameter.
This May, one of our main principals,Gruppo Parpas, has announced their presence at the Moulding Expo in Stuggart, Germany. The exhibition location has been chosen due to the regions expertise in automation and the large number of mechanical engineering industries in that area. This international trade exhibition aims at tool, pattern and mould making and is held every two years.
This year we have heard of many excellent exhibitions from around the world that introduce new technology to manufacturing industries. To promote today’s thriving rail industry in the UK, Railtex took place this May at the NEC. This was the largest rail exhibition in the UK for over 20 years and helped to provide unique networking opportunities over the three days.
During this week and to promote their global presence, Kitamura are exhibiting at Machine Tools Africain Johannesburg, South Africa. Machine Tools Africa is set to be the biggest trade exhibition of its kind in Africa, attracting visitors from many adjoining countries.
This week, Gruppo Parpas, one of Leader CNC’s main principals, will be attending the CIMT exhibition (China International Machine Tool Show). The exhibition was first launched in 1989 and, as well as being one of the most influential machine trade shows in China, is now recognised as one of the four largest international machine tool shows in the world. The show will be on from April 17th to 22nd and is expected to have an attendance of up to 90,000 visitors.
This May, Toshiba Machine will hold its annual Machine Group Solution Fair which will be held in 8 Halls at their factories between 18th through to 20th May. The Fair will highlight new and outstanding technology such as 3-D printer technology applied to machine tools, robotics, advanced automation, artificial intelligence and will also hold various seminars to outline what the future holds for advanced manufacturing.
This week Gruppo Parpas have announced their presence at this year’s MTA (Manufacturing Technology Asia) exhibition in Singapore. The exhibition is aimed at delivering advanced technologies for high quality markets such as medical, aerospace, oil & gas and energy sectors. With over 12,500 visitors expected on the first day and over 4,000 exhibitors showing the latest technology within a 15,000sqm of exhibition area, it’s a place to be this spring.
FAT, part of the Haco Group, is well established in its’ production of CNC lathes and special purpose machine tools. Founded over 100 years ago and with its own foundry, comprehensive machine shop and sheet metal/paint sections, FAT produces flat-bed and slant-bed lathes from small servo controlled teaching lathes to heavy duty 4 –shear models for parts up to 100 tons in weight.
Earlier this month, Leader CNC attended the annual seminar where all Kitamura European Dealers come together and get the latest updates about new features and models from the Japanese Team led by their President, Dr.Aki Kitamura. Kitamura specialise in producing only machining centres and offer a wide range of high performance vertical, horizontal and 5-axis machine tools, with great emphasis placed on their ability in designing and manufacturing high quality machine tools with absolute accuracy, rigidity, performance and reliability.
This March, the Toshiba TUE-200(S) vertical boring centre from Japan will arrive at our Nuneaton headquarters and we will be able to demonstrate its superb quality, accuracy and high quality turning capability. For efficient machining, the rigid table is constructed of ample strength and size. It is supported on a combination of a large-diameter thrust ball-bearing to carry the load and a tapered roller bearing to guarantee radial accuracy. The maximum table speed is 240 rpm and the TUE has a maximum load capacity of 15 tons.

The Kitamura Mycenter-2XD SP is the latest vertical machining centre from Kitamura, offering numerous features for both high speed and heavy duty machining. This year Toshiba Machine have released three models of the BM horizontal machining centre, developed and based round carefully calculated and re-designed solid cast iron structures made in Toshibas’ own in-house foundry, and integrating the latest machine tool technology with their powerful Tosnuc PX200 CNC control system.
With this year almost coming to an end, 2016 has been a great year for Leader CNC Technologies with many machine tools installed at prestigious companies and giving the company a great start to 2017. At least three times faster than a more conventional machine tool in the mould making industry, Kitamura claims its new 4-axis XrossCut machining centre can be simply operated by a machinist with very little or no CNC machining experience. This November FAT Haco will be exhibiting at PRODEX in Messe Basel, Switzerland, which will be held for four days from Tuesday 15th to Friday 18th November. The show will include a selection of machine tools, precision tooling, engineering services and computer technology.
The JIMTOF machine tool exhibition will be held in Tokyo-Japan from the 17th November to the 22nd November this year. The six days will show and highlight 82,600m² of machine tools, machine tool accessories and various other technologies. As past records indicate, the show will help contribute the growth of the industry, promote trade throughout the world and also attract many visitors from all over, including the UK.
This October the BI-MU show with be held in Milan, the exhibition will show various machine tools and with over 1,000 companies already confirmed in attendance, its defiantly a place to be this October. To supplement the existing range of well-established high productivity machines, Kitamura Machinery has launched the Mycenter Supercell-300G. This multi-pallet machine is aimed at the unmanned machining of small, high volume components in a single set-up, eliminating work-in-progress, high inventory and constant supervision.
The IMTS show will be soon approaching and there are many new things to see. One of our longest established principals, Toshiba Machine, have announced their presence at the show and will be introducing their brand new bridge mill.
FAT Haco have recently installed a large TUR MN CNC lathe at Ubroek in the Netherlands, who have been machining for over 50 years. Ubroek has many other machines within the company and manufacture for many industries.

This week, two newly developed Kitamura Mytrunnion-4G 5-axis vertical machining centres have been delivered into our Nuneaton showroom. The 4G machine is ideal for high precision 5-axis machining, with the sliding overhead doors providing easy access for loading and unloading of workpieces up to a diameter of Ø550mm, 400mm high and weighing up to 200kg.

This spring, FAT Haco manufactured a relatively small TUR PMN CNC lathe equipped with a large Ø190mm spindle bore and a double spindle nose, features ideal for processing and supporting long heavy shafts.
At a Dealers Seminar recently held in Dusseldorf, Kitamura Machinery announced a great range of new and improved machine tools to be introduced throughout this year.
