Heavy-duty Double Column Machine
One of Shibaura’s most significant and versatile machines is the MP-2620(U) bridge-type turn/mill centre. This combination of a Ø2M rotary table and a 5-axis spindle head provides full turning capability together with machining of internal and external features on complex components.
This presents an ideal solution for manufacturers, giving them the capability of turning and milling medium to large components on one machine instead of two or more.
The ability to rough and finish parts on one machine maintains greater accuracy between faces and features and also saves time and money by allowing production to be at its most profitable. The additional saving on valuable floor space makes the MP-2620(U) a valuable investment.

The cast iron structure, twin drives on the X, Y & Z axes, 64kW live spindle motor and 10 ton workpiece load makes the MP-2620(U) ideal for hard metal machining in industries like aerospace, oil & gas and power generation.
The PC HMI control includes remote maintenance monitoring, tool tip control for 5-axis work, three-dimensional interference check, vibration monitoring and a large colour display for its many powerful features.
