Hispano-Suiza (Safran) are specialists in manufacturing power transmission parts for civil, military and helicopter aerospace markets.Further to a Memorandum of Understanding announced last year, an agreement on a Joint Venture company has been signed with Rolls-Royce.The agreement, an exclusive 25 year contract, was signed by the Chairman of Hispano-Suiza and an Executive VP of Rolls-Royce and will cover manufacture of components for the entire range of civil aircraft.
In order to help production, they have purchased two Roller XL machines from Gruppo Parpas, represented in the UK by Leader CNC. The two Roller XL machines will be used by the Joint Venture company to produce accessory drive train transmission parts for all aircraft engines.
The production plant is currently being built with the aim of starting operation later in 2016 or early 2017. The production of the aerospace parts will mean employment for about 180 employees, including employees from its parent companies. The Roller XL machines are due for delivery early 2016.
The Roller XL 5-axis gantry mill offers maximum flexibility through a wide variety of table configurations and spindle heads, and is capable of combining turning and milling operations, making it ideal for complex and intricate aerospace components.
