We are only weeks away from this year’s IMTS and AMB shows, both being held in the same week but in different parts of the world.

IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show), being held in Chicago USA, will open its doors on 12th September, with many visitors planning to see a variety of machine tools. With many of our principals demonstrating and showing their quality machine tools, it’s definitely something you wouldn’t want to miss.

One of our longest established principals, Toshiba Machine, has announced their presence at the show and will be introducing their brand new MCW-4624 bridge mill. As part of their ongoing development of medium sized machines for aerospace and die & mould industries, Toshiba have designed this fixed-table gantry mill, capable of processing flat structural parts and more complex components requiring 5-face machining, turning or contouring. Visit Toshiba Machine’s stand at South Building – Metal Cutting - S-940.

Kitamura will be presenting a wide range of machine tools including the HX250G, HX400G, Mycentre-2XD, Mycentre-4XT, Mytrunniong-4G and the new “ reverse 3D printing Xrosscut” machining centre requiring no part progammes to cut parts. The HX250G and HX400G are both high speed horizontal machining centres perfect for manufacturing medium to long run small parts to a higher level of productivity. The Mytrunnion-4G is a super accurate 5 axis machining centre for the production of small to medium complex parts in a single set up. Gruppo Parpas is another principal that will be at this year’s IMTS and is one of the major manufacturers of medium to large CNC metal cutting machine tools. They have announced that the Diamond and Roller will be the two machine tools to see at IMTS this September. The Diamond gantry style 5 axis machining centre is perfect for manufacturing of moulds, dies and complex aerospace components. The fixed table and moving gantry design permits loads of up to 20 tons to be processed and high speed movement is achieved by the use of linear motor drives. The Roller is a fixed gantry offering maximum flexibility through a wide variety of table configurations and spindle heads. The square or round continuous rotary table, capable of carrying loads up to 3500kg, can also be integrated for turning applications up to 600rpm. The continuous universal head is fitted with a high torque 18000rpm spindle and other spindle options are available. Visit Gruppo Parpas’ stand at South Building – Metal Cutting – S-8959

FFG DMC will be also be attending and showing a wide range of machine tools. FFG DMC has developed into a leading company specialising in manufacturing CNC horizontal and vertical lathes as well as a range of other machine tools. DMC is now part of the FFG Group. The range of machine tools that will be there are DL40, DL22LMB, DM52VL and DL60V. The DL60Vis one of the vertical turning lathes, capable of processing small/medium cylindrical components and are often used in preference to machining on standard horizontal lathes. The DL40 horizontal CNC turning centre is one of twenty-five models within its range, this heavy duty cast slant-bed lathe being available as turn only or with C-axis/driven tools. Another machine tool to be shown this year is the DM52VL vertical machining centre – the fast tool changing time and high rapid rate resulting in high productivity, with options including linear scales and 4th/5th axis rotary tables. Finally, the slant bed DL22LMB horizontal CNC turning centre - this machine, with solid boxways, is available for higher volume work. These lathes and can be fitted with part catchers, tool pre-setters, collet chucks and interfaced with barfeed units. Visit FFG DMC’s stand at South Building – Metal Cutting – S-8129.

In Europe this September, the AMB show will be held in Stuttgart, Germany. AMB Stuttgart will run from 13th to 17th September and is a prime place to be to see FAT Haco exhibit the TUR 3MN x 4000 lathe.

FAT Haco is a Polish manufacturer of heavy duty CNC and servo-controlled teaching lathes. From 1998, it has been a part of the HACO group which is an important manufacturer of sheet metal working machinery and laser cutting equipment. FAT Haco have announced that they will exhibit the TUR 3MN x 4000, a high precision lathe designed for work pieces of up to Ø1550mm by 4M long. The machine also offers a wide range of steadies, turret combinations and options to suit different machine applications and will increase the volume of parts manufactured, either as one-offs or small batches. FAT Haco focuses on manufacturing CNC lathes specifically to meet customer’s needs and develops special applications including loading equipment. Visit FAT Haco’s stand HALL / STAND 9 B72.
