Takumi’s newest horizontal machining centres, the HMX series, are available in the U.K. The series consists of four machines - the HMX400, HMX500, HMX550 and HMX630, each machine offering U.K. manufacturers a wide range of options and accessories within automotive, subcon or various other sectors.
Starting with the HMX400, it is the smallest within the series and has a travel of 640 x 610 x 680 mm, a table size of 400 x 400 mm, 60 M/min rapids and spindle speeds of up to 15,000 rpm.
Further into the series we have the HMX500 and HMX550 which, at 800 × 800 × 800 mm axis strokes and table size of 500 × 500mm, are similar in travel and table size but offer two different spindle speeds - 20,000 rpm or high-torque 10,000rpm to allow for more versatile machining, dependent on the manufacturer’s requirements.
Finally, the HMX630 is the largest machine within the series with travels of 1050 x 900 x 1020 mm, table size of 630 x 630mm and the availability of having up to a six-pallet changer system.
These machines are perfect for manufacturing in large quantities and have many advantages such as the fast removal of swarf during workpiece machining and the ease of manufacturing large, heavy box-type workpieces with their versatility, speed and power.
